As Chief, I am responsible for ensuring that individuals unfit for the uniform are not hired by our department. I also enforce corrective actions, including termination, when an officer's conduct violates policy, poses a risk to the community or fellow officers, all in accordance with civil service regulations and the Officers Bill of Rights.
I have fought both in our Civil Service Board and court to remove those that should not be in uniform, and I will remain a Chief that polices the police.
